WhatsApp Business integration for EduGradUP

EduGradUP integrates with the WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta) for outbound transactional templates (attendance, fee reminders, exam slips) and 1:1 teacher–parent chats.

What you get

Setup — step by step

  1. Set up Meta Business Manager. Create or use an existing Meta Business Manager account for your school.
  2. Add a WhatsApp Business sender. In Business Manager → WhatsApp Accounts add a phone number that is not currently registered with WhatsApp.
  3. Submit message templates. Submit the EduGradUP-provided attendance, fee reminder, exam slip and absentee templates for Meta approval (24–48 hours).
  4. Connect EduGradUP. In Setup → Messaging → WhatsApp paste the Business Account ID, Phone Number ID and permanent token from Meta.
  5. Pilot with one class. Run the absentee template against a single section for one day and confirm delivery receipts before rolling out school-wide.

What does WhatsApp charge per message?

Meta charges per conversation by country and category. As of 2026 in BD/NP utility-category conversations are around USD 0.005–0.015 each. Confirm current pricing on Meta's WhatsApp Business pricing page.

Can teachers reply to parents 1:1?

Yes — within the 24-hour service window opened by a parent message. Outside it, only approved templates can be sent.

Are messages PDPA / DPDP compliant?

Templates are transactional and logged in the student record. EduGradUP does not store WhatsApp message bodies beyond what is required for delivery logs and audit.
