Setup — step by step
- Register DLT entity (India). Register the school's entity on the Vilpower / Smartping DLT platform and obtain an entity ID. Required for India SMS delivery as of 2024+.
- Register templates on DLT. Submit the EduGradUP-provided attendance, fee reminder and exam alert templates on the DLT platform under the registered entity.
- Get MSG91 auth key. In the MSG91 dashboard generate an auth key and a sender ID (6-character header).
- Add to EduGradUP. In Setup → Messaging → SMS paste the auth key, sender ID and DLT template IDs and save.
- Pilot one template. Send the absentee SMS to one section and verify delivery in MSG91's logs and EduGradUP's audit log.

Is DLT mandatory for Indian SMS?
Yes, TRAI requires DLT registration for all transactional SMS in India. EduGradUP cannot send Indian SMS without it.
What about BD and NP delivery?
MSG91 supports international routes to BD and NP. Local sender IDs require additional operator approval which MSG91 handles.
How are failed deliveries handled?
EduGradUP retries soft failures once after 60 seconds and surfaces hard failures in the bursar's daily comms report.
