DigiLocker (India) integration for EduGradUP

EduGradUP integrates with DigiLocker so schools can issue verified report cards, transfer certificates and bonafide letters that students retain for life in their DigiLocker account.

What you get

Setup — step by step

  1. Register as DigiLocker Issuer. Apply on partners.digitallocker.gov.in as an Issuer with your school's UDISE code and registration documents.
  2. Submit document templates. Submit transfer certificate, bonafide and report-card templates to the DigiLocker team for schema approval.
  3. Get production credentials. Receive issuer ID, secret and signing certificate.
  4. Add to EduGradUP. In Setup → Integrations → DigiLocker upload credentials and certificate.
  5. Pilot issue. Issue one bonafide letter to a real student's DigiLocker, confirm it appears within 60 seconds.

What documents can we issue?

Currently transfer certificate, bonafide letter and report card. The DigiLocker schema list expands periodically — EduGradUP adds new types as soon as DigiLocker approves them.

Do students need to consent?

Each student needs a DigiLocker account. Once they link Aadhaar to DigiLocker the school can push documents to their locker automatically.

Is this NEP 2020 aligned?

Yes — DigiLocker is the credential layer specified under NEP 2020 / ABC for academic credentials.
